Going Green...

Terry was up bright and early this morning...he laid the sand for the 'grass' to go on...the sun was shining here and it got hotter and hotter!
We ran out of sand, so had to go and get more...

This was 8.30 this morning...

The last bit of sand being flattened...

All done...ready for the 'grass'...

Unrolling the 'grass'...it was just like putting carpet down! Our mate Ginger came round...and got roped in to helping us, bless him!!

Getting it square...

Patio Chairs put together...then the Table...

All set out...at last!

Ginger having a well earned beer...hey, where's Terry's?!!

And voila! We have grass...

Terry left a gap round the edges for drainage and we filled them with pea shingle...

Putting the Barbeque together...technical stuff...

First lighting of the Chimnea...

View from the bathroom window...

View from Darcie's side...

Despite Terry having the accident at work, he has still tried to get the garden finished...I think he has done an absolutely fantastic job...and if you look back at the start in July, you'll agree!
I think it looks lovely now and I'm so proud of him...he can go fishing now...hee hee hee!!
WELL DONE TEL...AND THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!!

A Few of My Favourite 'Elaine' Things...

I put a couple of Christmas bits in the storage box under my bed last night and saw some of the beautiful Christmas things that I've got from Elaine of
Catspaw Primitives in the USA...I just had to take some pictures to show you, which I said I would a few weeks ago!
Here goes...

Merry Christmas Tin...

Snow Ice Cream Tin...

Christmas Tree Seeds, Christmas Oats and Snowman Nose Carrot Seeds Tins...

Christmas Tree in a Tiny Sifter...

Gingerbread Men Tin...

This is the Stack of Pantry Boxes that inspired me to paint the wooden Stacking Boxes I had on
e-bay...they are soooo cute!

A Handmade Santa that Elaine sent me for Christmas...

Picture made from a page in an 1800's Christmas Book...

A Toy Rolling Pin dressed up for Christmas...

Four Christmas Stockings made from antique Quilts...

I've got loads more from Elaine, they are dotted all around my house! I'll take some pictures and post them in due course...she has done some really unusual, one-off items, some of which I'm proud to say I own!!
Hope you liked the pictures!
Back soon,

Work Re-commences...

Well, work has actually re-commenced on the garden! What with Terry's leg, the weather and one thing and another, it came to an abrupt halt and nothing else got done! Terry got home early today and has been outside, angle grinder screaming like a Banshee and clouds of dust to make the neighbours want to kill us!! (Before he started, I did check to make sure no-one had any washing out!)

This was how it got left, prior to abandonment of said stepladder...

And this is how it looks now...the black roll thing is the astro-turf! (and no, that's not the new patio set!)

This is the view from the bathroom window...what a difference!

This is a close-up of the drain cover...it's got catches at the sides, so it can be lifted off if needed, but it's now flush with the patio. It was a special one Tel bought to bring it up to the same height as the patio...

Tomorrow, Tel will bed the slabs in...he hosed the garden down to get rid of all the dust and they were too wet to do it tonight...once that's done, he can get all the pointing finished...and we can get the patio set out...better late than never! His kids will be over with their kids on Bonfire Night, so at least it will actually get used before full-blown Winter LOL!! Hey, we've got the Chimnea as well, so it won't be too cold!

I saw some goodies that Karen Shaw of
Olde Cottage Primitives
had made...I just had ZERO resistance of her little Homestead Doll...I HAD to have her...NEEDED is more like it!
She arrived this morning and I'm sooooo glad I got her, she is just way too adorable for words...and she smells soooo yummy!! I haven't taken a picture of her yet, but here's the picture Karen took...
Isn't she just beautiful?!! And she's just the right size to 'tuck in' places!

I've got LOADS of Karen's things...her work is just perfect!

This is a Prairie Doll with her little Horse...

Here are a few more things on her Blog...check it out when you get a minute...

Callie Dolls...

Curly Stem Stout Pumpkins...

All lovely, but these have to be my favourite of her Autumn Goodies...
Pumpkin Head Dolls...

I've got this picture as my screensaver and I love it! Hats off to the gal who designed them, but hats off again to Karen, they look just absolutely
sooooo-perrrb!!

Last week, I bought (yet) another Penny Runner from Kerrie!
Simple Pleasures from Maine...
It arrived yesterday and is another piece of FAB work-woman-ship!! That makes 9 of Kerrie's Penny Runners I have now...yeah!!

I also bought a couple of things from Elaine...needed a fix!!

Christmas Tins...

Early Tiny Bucket...I bought one, EXACTLY the same as this, from Pam in Georgia 5 years ago...and have NEVER seen another one like them!

Child's Masher...to go with my 50 others!!

Goat's Milk Tin...this one will have a Christmas Label on the back, so it can stay out all year round...yippee!!

These are on the way...Elaine posted them on Saturday, so they should be here early next week...can't wait to see them now!
I think I need to put my Shopping Sessions on hold now...I have enough in my house to open a museum! Mind you, I don't think you can ever have too many Prims now, can you?!
Off to watch Mount Pleasant now!
Take care and see you soon!

Indian Summer...yeahhh!!

Well...I spent all day Saturday taking photo's in the garden of things to list on
e-bay. It was sooooo hot, that I got burnt through my top! I think I got a bit too much sun, as I ended up with a bad old headache that night, plus it carried over into Sunday...I managed to get a lot listed though...
Here are some of the things I've got listed...

This set of Boxes was inspired from something that my friend, Elaine in the USA did last year...Elaine painted a set of Pantry Boxes, these are a set of wooden Boxes that I painted and then stacked upside down!

Large Punched Tin Hearts...I have smaller ones listed too. These are perfect for a 10th Wedding Anniversary, Anniversary or just for a Prim/Country home! Our friends got married a few weeks ago and I gave one to Julie...just something a bit different!

The old Snowman Jingle Bells!! When I had my Prim shop, I sold hundreds of these and sold out of them every year! The snow came in November last year and killed trade, so I've got some of these left...

Snowflake Heart Pillow...great for hanging on your Christmas Tree or dotting around the house!

Prim little Snowmen! I designed these and had them made for my shop! They sold really well and these are the last two I have left...

I actually ordered these by mistake, but they turned out to be really popular and most of them sold!!
She is a metal Angel, with Crystals in her Wings and on the bottom of her Dress...her Bow and Dress have an enamel-type coating...really unusual..!!

These Signs came from the USA...I sold hundreds of them, both Christmas and Every Day ones, literally hundreds! These are the last 3 I have left...then that's it...gone for good! They are handmade by a husband and wife, who employ a few family members too...

Three little Birdies, sitting in a Tree...these were really popular last year! I know the middle Bird is a Red Cardinal, but not sure about the other two!! Unusual little Tree Decorations!

These Icicles were made by a Tinsmith in the USA...they are twisted metal and the ends are cut to a point. They catch the lights on the Tree and look lovely! Another unusual set of Tree Decorations...

I bought some little resin Pumpkins from the USA last week...they have just arrived and are sooooooooo cute, I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! I've put them on the table with my other Pumpkins...I took the picture outside so you get a better idea of the colours...

Oh and I got some fabric Acorns too, from Maggie at Saltbox Primitives...

That's it for today...back soon!
